What the verses are doing
The first verse sketches the boy through what he does rather than what he looks like. The bridge as reassurance
The bridge softens from spectacle to comfort. She tells him not to let go of her hand even for a moment, then flips the thought: she is fine on her own too, because she has someone, because she loves someone. It is a quietly grown-up sentiment tucked inside a teen-coded song. Loving him is not the same as needing him, and she seems to know the difference.
The final section introduces the 'glowing' motif, which functions as the song's one concession to imagery. Her heart is lit up, warmed, filled in.
